Patricia Beecham
After spending 37 years as a microbiologist/teacher in Etobicoke, Pat decided, upon retirement, to explore her artistic side. At the urging of some friends, she enrolled in a basic watercolour class in the fall of 1998, and since then has continuously studied in Mississauga and Orillia.
Since moving to Bayshore Village 7 years ago, she has endeavoured to spend more time on her art. You can often find her paintings on exhibition at the Orillia Museum, the Opera House, Zephyr Gallery, Couchiching Medical Centre and Filou Bistro
She takes much of her inspiration from her West Coast background, exploring lighthouses, seas, skies and coastal landscapes. Among her other favourite topics are florals, Ontario landscapes and animals (especially cats).
She also accepts commissions for paintings of buildings and animals.
Pat enjoys playing bridge, music, theatre, gardening, photography, and travel, with her husband, Noel Cooper. She has 5 stepchildren and 4 grandchildren. You may have recognized her as a judge on TVO on the provincial "Reach for the Top" championships.
She works from her home in Bayshore Village.
